MISIONES 3-DAY BIRDING EXCURSION
- 3-day birding itinerary: Urugua-i – San Sebastian de la Selva – San Pedro – Salto Encantado.
- Great as a birding-packed add-on mini trip after the bustle and spectacle of Iguazú.

- AM Route 101 through Iguazu National Park with numerous birding stops to San Sebastian de la Selva
- 12.00 Arrive San Sebastian,
- Lunch
- PM Birding on San Sebastian trails
- Evening meal. Overnight San Sebastian
Day 2
- AM Early breakfast. Birding on San Sebastian trails
- Lunch.
- PM Transfer (2 hours) to San Pedro
- Late afternoon at Araucarias PP – watch Vinaceous-breasted Amazons come into roost.
- Evening meal. Overnight Swiss-style cabins (San Pedro)
Day 3
- 06.00 Rush breakfast
- Transfer to Cruce Caballero PP (requires 4×4 transport – included)
- AM Birding Cruce Caballero main trail

- PM Transfer to Salto Encantado

06.00 Hotel pick-up for “early bird” birding on Route 101 before Iguazu National Park opens.
08.00 Arrive at Iguazu Park main entrance.
AM Walk Macuco Trail (5.4km return trip) birding along the way.
12.30 approx return to visitor centre. Lunch.
PM To Garganta del Diablo station and visit Garganta del
Diablo Falls – walking one way, either out or back, increases birding
time through an interesting wetland area.
17.00 Park entrance pick-up for transfer to San Sebastian de la Selva
19.00 Arrive San Sebastian. Dinner

06.00 Transfer to one of the following options:
Salto Encantado waterfall and reserve
Saltos de Mocona falls
– As both of theses areas have good birding, our last day’s
destination depends quite a lot on local conditions – mainly the
weather and if the falls at Moconá are visible .
18.00 End services at location of your choice in Puerto Iguazú (or other in radius – eg. Posadas)
