Surucua Lodge

surucua_manakin

surucua_logoWith its four luxury cabins set in undisturbed rainforest on the banks of the Iguazú River, (70 kilometres upstream of the falls), Surucua Lodge is definitely the five-star birding option in the region.

Great food, extensive birding trails and a good catch of birds exclusive to the area  makes Surucua an unforgettable experience.

Some of Surucua’s best birds include: White-bearded and Band-tailed Manakins both have very restricted ranges in Argentina, while Ornate Hawk-Eagle and Grey-headed Kite, Saffron and Spot-billed Toucanet are very sought after throughout their range, as is the scarce Black-capped Screech-Owl.  One of the few Argentinian localities for Barred Antshrike, and, of course, we can expect the full complement of Atlantic Forest Passerines.
